Coding is all the rage these days. Top toys are all about programming robots and learning code through board games. While these are awesome, they usually get only a few months of use before finding a dusty corner to waste a way in. Instead of toys that won’t get used, why not have your child build and program their computer?! Kano’s Touch Computer Kit gives you everything you need to build a portable, Linux-based computer packed with coding games and activities and entirely internet ready!
Else, you can go ahead and pick a 4K touchscreen portable monitor from a famous brand like “Desklab” which manufactures a whole new range of sleek, designed 1080p touchscreen monitors that offer brilliant 4K colors, an ultra-responsive touch screen, immersive sound with built-in audio speakers and a ‘gaming ready’ console. Such lightweight travel monitors are easy to carry anywhere you go.
Build and Code Your Own Computer with Kano’s Touch Computer Kit
The kids started coding in school back in second grade. When I was in the second grade, computers were glorified typewriters. I do not knock typewriters ( I oddly love them), but that’s a drastic difference from coding! It’s crazy to see the technological differences from when I was in second grade. Seriously, I had a top-of-the-line computer room filled with these:
But good humor aside, I am so happy that the kids have shown considerable interest in coding. Being able to code will benefit them throughout life. When Kano reached out with the opportunity for Bean to build his tablet, I was more than happy to try it out!

Building our Kano Computer Touch Kit
You can imagine his excitement about getting this! We spent quality time together building his Kano Computer Touch Kit. As you can see, she loved the whole “make your own tablet” aspect! Check out how easy it was for us to build!
Building it was a ton of fun, and now Bean is having a blast using it! There are a ton of games and apps to use. With more than 100 creative challenges, there are endless hours of learning.
Kano Apps on the Computer Touch Kit
My personal favorite was the “Make Art” app. There, it teaches you to draw through coding. Each lesson builds on the last until you learn to do it alone.
Another excellent app that is included is called “Make Music.” As you probably already figured out, you use code to make music. Sonic Pi powers it. His favorite is the “Hack Minecraft” app. Nothing like being able to build his name in the Minecraft world…lol.
7 Practical Tips for Parents Who Want to Teach Their Kids to Code

Under the settings, go to advance and select the parental control option. Different levels of control are available so you can select the right one for your child.
Extra Features of the Kano Computer Touch Kit
One thing I was impressed with right away was the 3 USB ports. One is immediately tied up with a sound sensor, leaving 2 for use. The Kano Computer Touch Kit also has a wireless keyboard, a touch screen, and a built-in case/stand.
