Why Side Hustling is Great For Stay-at-Home Moms
Let me say this first, Moms rule the world!
I might be a little biased because I am a work-at-home mom of two kids and it is the best role of my life.
Being a mom is as demanding as it is rewarding. Apart from other daily needs, a stay-at-home mom surely has greater need to earn money.
As an avid side hustler, I feel every mom should have a side gig for many reasons. It could be to make money or learn something new. The reasons are endless, and opportunities to do so are infinite.
Are side hustles really good for stay-at-home moms?
Absolutely!
I work at home in a remote job, manage a blogging business, started a new side hustle as a freelance travel writer and of course dipping my feet into landscape photography. Just because you are a stay at home mom, does not mean you can not have a side business you can start at home There are ways of making money and saving money from the comfort of your own home.
So, I do have a ‘little’ experience in side hustling and let me tell you why it’s great to have a side gig for moms.
Balance Family And Work
This is a big one. Side hustles are a perfect way you can balance your work and family life when compared to taking up a full-time job. Imagine having to leave kids at childcare all day or having kids at home with a full-time online job. I know, it sounds impossible.
So, what is the solution?

There are loads of side gigs that are suitable to your lifestyle as a mom, and you can do them in your own time. For me, it is always when my kids go to sleep or before they wake up. Perfect isn’t it?!
Potential Home-Based Business
If you want to know about someone who started a side hustle and made it as a home-based business, then I am a perfect example for that. All you’ll need to start off with, whether it is a blog or website is an idea and a host like certa hosting to make your site live and ready to read. I never thought I could turn it into a successful home business, as it just started out as side hustle which I really love.
That’s potential side hustles have. Because it’s a home-based business it has all the flexibility perks along with having an infinite money-making possibilities.
There are literally countless side gigs you can start that have the chance to become a full-blown home-based business, like Event Planning, Professional Home Organizing, Travel Planning, Virtual Assisting, Amazon Selling, etc.
Though some of them need a little investment, some are totally free to start.

There are many side jobs you can do from home that earn just an extra income or more than full-time income for you. Just find the ones you love and start now.
No Full-Time Commitment
I know as a work-at-home mom that my kids need most of my time and that’s the biggest reason I chose to work from home. To be around my family, especially when they need me is my biggest priority.
Taking up a full-time job would mean I see my kids less. I am sure many of the moms face this dilemma if they are thinking of working.
But it does not have to be such a hard decision.
The simple solution for this problem is side hustling. The best part of side hustles is, they don’t take up all your time, most of them have no full-time commitment, and you get to decide how much you work.
