The Shedd Aquarium | 1200 S Lake Shore Drive

One of the world’s most celebrated aquariums, the Shedd Aquarium is a must-see for families who find themselves in the Windy City. This spectacular center for marine life is home to 32,000 animals from 1,500 different species. The stunning lakeside aquarium is one of Chicago’s most popular attractions, so it certainly pays to get there early, but if you do, you’ll likely find yourself delighted: The Shedd is home to everything from a stingray touch exhibit, a recreation of the Amazon jungle, and even a simulated Caribbean reef housed in a 90,000-gallon tank.
