The slow-cooker is my go kitchen device as it saves me a ton of time and delivers amazing flavor! The fact that I have three, well that indicates I may like to have people over way too much! One dish that always goes over great at parties is my slow cooker chili recipe. The best thing about it is the flexibility!
Here I will be starting you out with the base recipe. To make it your own, all you have to add some of your favorite extras! It might sound a little complicated, but it is far from it! Check out below the recipe for a list of extras from me. Then, in the comments, tell us some of yours! I love hearing new ideas!
Slow Cooker Chili Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 lb Ground Beef
- 3 cans of mild chili beans
- 2 small cans of tomato sauce
- 1 medium white onion, finely diced
- Chili Seasoning
- The Kitchen Sink (Ok, not really, but check out the suggestions below)
Slow Cooker Chili Recipe Directions:
In a skillet, brown up your meat. Approximately half way through, throw in your diced onions. Personally, I like to kick it up a notch and toss in some taco seasoning right as the meat is finishing up. Anyway to develop more flavor, I’m in! In your slow cooker; toss in your beans, tomato sauce, seasoning mix, and meat mixture. Add in anything extra you would like (i.e. diced tomatoes, bell peppers, spicy peppers, extra cumin). Turn on slow and let simmer for 6-8 hours, stirring about mid way through. Stir and serve it up with an array of toppings and enjoy!
Kitchen Sink Ingredients:
- Can of corn (drained)
- Rotel Tomatoes
- Jalapeno
- Peperoncinis
- Bell Peppers
- Change the meat (chicken, pork, deer, etc)
- Fresh Herbs

I tried this out and my family really liked it! I added in a can of corn and some multi colored bell peppers. It was a huge hit!
