ELM Sleep Mattress Review
As someone who suffers from fibromyalgia, myofascial pain, and chronic fatigue syndrome, a great night’s sleep on a quality bed is a must. We decided to give Elm Mattress a go because I am tired of waking up in pain!
In today’s Elm Sleep Mattress review, we will first go over all the facts, the pros & cons, and then I’ll share what I thought after sleeping on my elm sleep mattress for 30 days.
Elm strives to offer high-quality mattresses with the best materials while keeping prices affordable. When you compare Elm mattresses to other brands, you will see that the construction, quality, feel, and durability are top-notch. So if you are looking for an affordable, high-quality, and safe mattress, Elm Sleep is the perfect brand!
About the Brand
ELM Sleep is one of the newer mattress brands within the sleep industry. There are hundreds of mattress brands, but ELM Sleep still stands out.
Regarding price points, the highest price isn’t always the best option. Elm Sleep can offer luxurious 13” & 15” hybrids at an affordable price point, all while using premium materials. That’s because Elm Sleep is a factory-owned mattress company, which allows them to avoid all the reselling and 3rd party markups.
The Elm mattress comes in 2 models with 2 firmness options:
- The 15-inch Resort Collection comes in a Plush and Firm
- A 13-inch model that also comes in a Plush and Firm.
This review will examine the 15 Resort Collection model in plush. No matter which model you choose, Elm Sleep offers a 1 Year trial, free shipping and returns, and a lifetime warranty.
Elm Comfort & Feel (15″ Resort Model in Luxury Plush)
The 15’ 1-sided mattress is softer than medium, making it great for pressure relief with a pleasantly soft feel. And despite its softness, it does offer excellent support. If you’re looking for an average amount of suppleness and prefer sleeping on your side or back most often, this product and firmness could be perfect!
Both my husband and I are stomach sleepers (no matter how hard we try to side sleep). We have both been able to comfortably sleep on our new mattress and wake up feeling great. Most mornings, I now find my husband has managed to flip over onto his back while sleeping.
The elm sleep mattress does come in a luxury firm as well. This is an excellent option for people who do not typically sleep on their side and like more support. It would also be the better option for heavier sleepers.
Elm Sleep Uses Certi-PUR foams
Elm Sleep uses Certi-PUR foams and water-based glues for all their mattress options. Because of this, these emit fewer toxins than other brands. Natural mattresses do emit strong smells, but this will dissipate quickly. The mattress can sleep on the same day you open it. Here are the benefits of using Centri-Pur foams:
- Made without ozone depleters
- No PBDEs, TDCPP, or TCEP (”Tris”) flame retardants
- Made without mercury, lead, and other heavy metals
- Made without formaldehyde
- Low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) emissions for indoor air quality (less than 0.5 parts per million)
- Made without phthalates regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission
Elm Edge Support
Elm hybrid mattresses always include an outermost three-coil row that boasts stronger coils for increased durability and better edge support. When we lay down on the side of the mattress, we never rolled off onto the floor; instead, because these strong coils keep your body weight in place, you can take full advantage of every inch of bed space possible. In addition, sitting on the very edge revealed about a 4-inch sag but still supported our weight without bottoming out. Overall, this form factor provided just what was needed during sleeping hours—a supportive sleep surface combined with excellent ergonomics.
Elm Sleeping Temperature
All of the Elm mattress models boast a gel-infused memory foam. This foam will help move heat away from your body and not trap heat like older, non-gel-infused foams. Additionally, this hybrid model allows increased airflow through the coil unit.
The quilted top foam is also a foam that will not trap heat. There is a good separation from the memory foam, which can trap heat more—the quilting foam assists with a sleeping cooler.
As someone who sleeps hot (thanks to perimenopause), I am always concerned about how my bed will affect my temperature while I sleep. I found that I have slept more than comfortably on our elm sleep mattress, with no increase in heat.
Are there any cons?
The main con is that the price point can be a lot for many families in today’s economy. As a parent, I can attest to how hard investing in a higher-priced item can be. That said, I have also tried my fair share of cheaper options. None of those beds have lasted more than three years and were nowhere near able to provide quality sleep. When picking items inside your home, your mattress is one you shouldn’t go cheaper on.

Final Thoughts: ELM Sleep Mattress Review
Regarding our elm sleep mattress review, I am incredibly impressed with the quality and design of elm sleep. We highly recommend considering this brand. The 15″ model is great for side sleepers and has a wonderfully comfortable plush top. The 4lb memory foam is above average quality compared to most brands, many of which do not have a higher-density foam like this.
I wouldn’t buy from Elm Sleep. They have no phone number, they never responded in there chat for over a week and never responded through email. Imagine trying to return it if you don’t like it?? Run as fast as you can…
